OUR INSPIRATION

This dedication is lovingly crafted to honor the enduring legacy of Tee (and Shellie) Baur. Tee was a bridge to some of St. Louis’ most influential figures, including August Busch III, the Clay family of Enterprise, and many others. These connections played a pivotal role in the founding and growth of Seeking Educational Excellence (SEE).

SEE exists today because of Tee Baur’s extraordinary vision and boundless generosity. It all began with a simple coffee meeting after Tee saw Kevin Jackson, SEE’s eventual founder, on television. Recognizing Kevin’s potential to drive transformative change, Tee became a steadfast champion of the mission to uplift the Black community. He believed

deeply in addressing systemic barriers and creating opportunities for those who had been held back. His unwavering support and belief in this vision laid the foundation for SEE’s success.

Though his passing came far too soon, Tee’s legacy lives on through the countless lives touched by SEE’s work. I often wish he could have seen the profound impact of his contributions, knowing how deeply they have shaped the futures of so many.

Together with his beloved wife Shellie, Tee’s committed to making a difference far beyond SEE.

Over the years, the Baur family opened their hearts and home to foster eight Black children, embodying the spirit of love, generosity, and service. Their legacy of paying it forward continues through their enduring philanthropy and the lives they’ve touched.

This dedication is a testament to Tee’s remarkable life, his unwavering belief in the power of education, and his dedication to creating a brighter future for all. His spirit lives on in every life transformed by SEE and in countless ways he and Shellie have made the world a better place.
