SEEKING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE (SEE) STRONGLY ADVOCATES FOR CONTINUED TESTING OF STUDENTS FOR COLLEGE ENTRY DURING COVID-19
[GILBERT, AZ] Due to COVID-19 much discussion occurred around whether or not we should continue college entrance tests. While SEE understands the strain COVID-19 put on families, we still believe and strongly advocate for the continued use of testing for college entry.
We test for many occupations, mostly for competence in various areas. For example, lawyers take the Bar Exam. Accountants can take the CPA exam. Financial planners take a series of tests, like the CFP. Most professional occupations require some sort of continuing education which requires testing. Put simply, testing is a way of life.
Testing shows us the gaps in our knowledge. And this is especially true for students. Students from different backgrounds need to know how they compare in relative knowledge. However, academia now wants to reevaluate ACT and SAT testing.
Our Director of Programs, Dr. Kuni Beasley provides clarity on our stance around testing. For a firm understanding of why testing is important and how testing is currently implemented for college admission, click this link..
