The New York Times launched The 1619 Project in 2019.

The project was created in an effort according to the NY Times to reconcile America’s racist past with the narrative put forth by many today. Indeed, many Americans believe that slavery and oppression are ingrained in all aspects of America society.

SEE and our partners decided to challenge Americans to rethink this false version of the country. We see an America built on the backs of ALL Americans, particularly Blacks. And our video series intends to highlight the accomplishments of American Blacks.

The video we produced is the first in a series where we challenge multiple aspects of this project.
Simply put: how is it possible for so many blacks to succeed, if the notion of The 1619 Project is true?
